Bartender’s Guide

The classic cocktail recipe book

Jim Beam presents the legendary
“Bartender’s Guide” in german for the first time

For many cocktail lovers, the name Jerry Thomas means something. After all, he was the first American in the middle of the 19th century to play music in his bar and entertain his guests with spectacular performances. But the man became a legend mainly because of something else he did: he wrote down his cocktail recipes and published them in 1862 under the title “The Bartender’s Guide.”

This has since become a standard work for every bartender in the States – and JIM BEAM arranged to have it translated into German as part of its “Classic Bourbon Cocktails” tour in 2009. The 156-page comprehensive reference work was expanded with a foreword by Fred Noe from the JIM BEAM family distillery and contains all the original recipes by Jerry Thomas – including whiskey cocktails. Just like the original edition, it has a water-resistant black cover with elegant silver embossing. The current edition of “The Bartender’s Guide” is available from the JIM BEAM shop at www.jim-beam.de.
